We had short stops in Ft.Lauderdale before boarding the "Emerald Princess" and after debarkation. It was not really hot to swim in ocean, but we anyway spent some time at the Miami Beach and did some shopping.

The Princess Cays is an artificial point at Eleuthera Island, apparently looks like former tiny village made by cruise company as tourist attraction. It is a small fenced compound here, comprising from beach, pier, few shops, tour gathering point and couple of bars. Mainly, the island itself is underdeveloped and the village lifestyle is dominating here.

You know - St.Maarten is a smallest island that has been divided between two countries. One side is Dutch and another is French. Both capitals, Philipsburg and Marigot, (and island in general) are well developed for tourists and have things to see, buy or enjoy. The jewelery shops in Philipsburg are really impressive and in Marigot we found excellent wine shop with tremendous selection, it's called "Le Goût du Vin". The beaches are very good and clean, and the water is phenomenally turquoise, like in the travel brochures.

These islands was bought by US in 1917 for 25 millions. The Germans also wanted to buy them, but tendered with 5 millions less and lost. The only American soil where cars are running on opposite side, British way.

Grand Turk got his glory when NASA launched and landed (sea-ed, actually) the first American man around the Earth on "Friendship 7" spaceship. Since that, the comm station is still in use for space programs. Otherwise, the local diving wreck museum appeared surprisingly great and phenomenally rich with exhibits. They are still claiming the shipwrecks of one of three Columbus caravels is somewhere around.

Days at sea are mostly going formal. There is a lot entertainment areas for that like restaurants, nice jewelery shops, picture gallery with auctions, small theater and promenade decks.
